Beach getaway to Costa Rica. Where to go?

We are looking for ideas on where to go for a couple or three days to the beach in Costa Rica and I've never been there. Does anyone have advise regarding the beach communities on the Pacific side of Costa Rica?

you did not exit costa rica with out paying the exit tax.

Bus ticket only counts for onward travel when you enter Panama by air. Enter by land and you need the airline proof.

Quepos. Stay in the mountain see the Manual Antonio National Forrest and go down the hill and take the catamaran cruise. Swim, and dinner. Hotel Mono Azul or Blybos. Just got back from there. The titi monkeys are a treat.

You will not require airline tickets until you return to Panama.Kevin Fisher recently posted the drill required to leave. I think you need to transfer the car to your wife's name beforehand if she's the only Licensed driver. If they catch you driving unlicensed in either country you can expect to have the vehicle impounded.

  Keith, we were required to show airline tickets upon entering Costa Rica and that is the reason for the 90 days. We were told by Caribe Shutlle to have the tickets as they were necessary for the crossing. Maybe this is something new for CR or maybe they don't require it at all borders...

I've heard that Paso Canoas is the worst border to cross, but I have no experience there yet. We will be doing our next border hop there.

Cross at Paso Canoas if you're going to Atenas which is on the way into San Jose from the Pacific side. Why cross a mountain range twice? You will have to have your vehicle Paperwork in order to exit.

I've heard people say that you can cancel the airline tickets within 24 hours, but if you're going to stay for 3 days you would have to do that twice.

Bob, we had to show the airline ticket going both ways and Costa Rica requires 90 days so it really doesn't matter what Panama allows at that point.
