Hey Kelvin,
Do you still ride a motorcycle? Wasn't it a BMW?
Have you been over the Continental Divide with it?
It looks like a fun drive as long as you don't run into a banana truck!
A little surprised that our Montreal interloper hasn't made a comment about this posting as he is a self-professed motorcycle enthusiast.
Even remember his commenting several years ago about wanting to travel on this new stretch of road past Caldera and Chiriquicito.
Hello John - Interloper here.
Didn't realize that your subject title referred to an MC ride!
Yes, I still yearn for a ride on this new "Orange Grove H'way" to Volcan. I tried to rent a bike (even went to ask some private owners of bikes, apart from Cowboy Dave), but no luck...
I did the trip to Bocas (exactly same route, via Caldera) twice, and I could swear that the huge pothole at 5:34 is the one I struck with my little Toyota Yaris. The impact was so hard that the windshield wipers came on by themselves!
After my return home I noticed that the front right tire had a huge bulge. I went to the Terpel gas station to have it fixed. Later I noticed how they "fixed" it: They turned the tire around so the bulge was inside and no longer visible! Luckily, the car had a full size spare...
My 3 bikes are "hibernating" until Mid-April when we return from France.
Great video John - thanks for posting!
And ride safely!
Here are my two-wheelers. The little one is a '73 Honda CD175 which I restored (made one bike out of two)...
