03/08/2014 - The Public Ministry today reported the discovery of new bone remains (possibly) of Dutch tourists Lisanne Fronn and Kris Kremers, who went missing while hiking in Boquete April 1.
First Superior Prosecutor Betzaida Pittí said that indiegnous residents contacted her office Friday about bone fragments they had found that could be linked to the case. They were found along the banks of the Culubre River, in Alto Romero, Changuinola, where other remains of the young women had been discovered.
Pittí said that the new findings were reported after a search party had combed the area for three days last week. The search team has now returned to the area.
The latest remains are being tested to determine if they are of the young women.
Dutch tourists called 911 before deaths

Hans Kremers and Roeli Kremers, parents of Kris Kremers, one of the Dutch tourists who died while hiking on El Pianista trail in Chiriquí, said that their daughter and her companion Lisanne Froon made emergency calls to 911 in Panama and 112 in the Netherlands on the day they disappeared.
Cell phones belonging to the women and a camera were recovered from a backpack belonging to the two women near where their partial remains were found along the trail in Bocas del Toro.
The parents were given a copy of the photos that were on the camera. The family said there are photos of them "happy and healthy" on April 1 that show them hiking along the path. There are also some 90 photos that were taken between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. on April 8, but no photos in between. The photos taken April 8 are too drak to see anything.
The Kremers said that they decided to make the journey along the trail with a guide to retrace the steps of the young women.
"We wanted to see with our eyes the travels made by our daughter and get an idea of what could have happened in the mountainous area," they said, adding that they are puzzled because the area was not difficult to get out of.
Photos indicate that the girls started their hike at 11 a.m. April 1 and they arrived at 1 p.m. A photo at 2 p.m. showed Kris near a ravine in Bocas del Toro. It is the last picture of either woman.
Jerome Van Passel, spokesman for the families, later clarified that there is no cell phone service in the area where the women were hiking.
AES ASKED FOR PERMISSION
Kris Kremers' parents are expected to ask hydroelectric company AES to give them permission to have divers check a swampy area near where the partial remains of the girls were found to try to locate more skeletal remains.
They will also try to meet with indigenous residents who found the remains and the backpack.
They said that they are still trying to work with the Public Prosecutor's Office to find a resolution to this case and to determine how the women died.
"We have many questions and we hope that during the time we are in Panama, the authorities can respond to them," they said.
Thanks Fran. we have someone that looked at the 50 something photos that were taken on the last days, within a short time of each other. They were enhanced as much as could be. Still too many questions but can not go into details. By soon enough the parent will communicate more info.

A small but heartfelt group met in the square this eve. Mostly Local Panamanians. The parents were so very grateful and gracious to Boquete residents.
There have not been enough donations to publish the book of loving thoughts gathered from the Community, to give to them.
Sad.
there have been 700 views of this thread.
If only 2% who were interested enough to look..could donate a couple of $$s this book would be made and given to the families.
I am sort of flummoxed at the lack of response to Lily's request.
Erin, put out a plea for donations on News Boquete. Maybe it will get more attention there.
