Hi. I am planning on retiring and moving to Panama. I was told one can't get paid to tutor or teach with a pensionado visa. Does anyone have any suggestions how to work part - time when he or she moves to Panama? Thanks JIM

Teach online ( e.g., Blackboard ) for a school back in the U.S.. That way, you are not subject to the restrictions in Panama.
I lived in Boquete for four years and taught for a university back in Florida. Now I am in Hawaii doing the same thing. Online teaching allows you to live anywhere you have access to the internet.

$50.00 per day for a 60 hour work week. I lasted 9 weeks. I am a retired high school teacher. And make sure you can speak Spanish well.
Get a different kind of visa (search site).
You may find it difficult to work here in Panama, as there are a number of hoops to jump through. Plus the wages are very very low. Best of luck to you.
Check out teaching for the International Schools--there's a big one in Panama City and one in Coronado--but it would probably be full time. They have websites--check them out--
