We went there last night the food was good, They turned on the tvs, being classified as a sports bar they should have them on all the time. Then when she gave us the check I put down my American express and she said cash only big surprise my wife had a 100.00 bill or we would have been doing dishes. Not sure if it was posted on the front entry way......
The real deal: Authentic Canadian bacon isn't what most Americans think it is

No confusion at all Keith - I ws just asking if the local version Joanne makes uses yellow pea meal or cornmeal to coat it as a preservative.

But Canadian Canadian bacon is entirely different. It's nothing like the stripy strips of our American breakfast bacon. Real Canadian bacon is a roast -- a closely trimmed, pickle-brined piece of muscle that comes from the hog's back.
It looks like the eye of a pork chop -- very lean with no marbling. It has only a 1/8-inch-thick layer of fat on one side. And it is rolled in golden cornmeal and sold uncooked.
Our neighbors to the north call it by a different name, too. Canadian bacon sold in Canada is known as peameal bacon. The peameal comes from the dried yellow peas that originally were ground into meal and packed around the meat to preserve it. When cornmeal became more plentiful and practical, processors switched over. But the peameal name stuck.

Yes, I know you know David. I was making a funny. I do believe Joanne uses genuine peameal. By the way, I back bacon is delicious at any meal.

Are there any Dallas Cowboys, Green bay fans here and do you all watch it at Mikes. Also what NBA Dallas Mavs, Spurs and Bulls.
Now this is REAL Canadian Bacon!
Hey, peameal bacon in Boquete!
Wow ... just one more major reason to move there!
Do you use peameal or cornmeal?
I've never seen or tasted the real thing, but I understand the original was peameal.
When I looked it up, it seems that these days - even in Canada - they use cornmeal, but still call it peameal bacon.
Are you cornfused, David? It's often just called Back Bacon at home. Here's an interesting article. http://old.post-gazette.com/food/20020602bacon0602fnp4.asp
