I have one for sale after trial and error in understanding what we could use per our service,
The unit is a Titan that requires a double (on each side of the breaker box) 50 Amp.
It has never been installed and has the parts recommended by the support team.
The issue? I didn’t understand that it required that much space in the circuit panel.
It it would be great for a small business or for hearing the water in an entire house of reasonable size. We paid approx. $800 for it. We are willing to listen to offers.
We have 3 other Titan units installed on our property and no complaints. This one was just an error on our part.
An electric on-demand water heater is essentially worry-free. It has a temperature control setting. There are no tanks to replace ever. If you have separate hot and cold water piping in the house, one unit will serve the whole house (though you will have to wait for the hot water to reach the point of use, just as with a tank-type electric or gas water heater.
Electric shower heads are often disparaged, but actually they work nicely and are just about the only way to go if only cold water is available in the shower.
so, I've found a "trick" to these. Many times, the water temp is unstable for showering because the shower-head is putting out a mix of hot and cold water. this may command the solenoid on the hot water heater to shut off, then you're left with a cold shower after a few minutes.
the "solution", I found is to crack open the hot water faucet on the bathroom sink whilst showering. this relieves the pressure on the solenoid and allows you to properly balance the temperature without variations.
It's not ideal, but it seems to work.

I have found out through talking with professionals that it isn't the heater most of the time. You get a bad one once in awhile.
It is the FLUCUATING water pressure and trash stopping up the filters.
It has been exactly that in my experience.
I know have a 40 gallon Electric energy efficient hot water heater. After showering we let it heat up again and then unplug it for 18hrs and still have plenty of hot water.
If you install an on demand heater vent it to the outside of the house. The fumes are toxic if you breath them enough.
Panama must not have a law for this since hardly anyone vents these on demand heaters.
They are cheap on gas therefore people will put up with the aggravation. That's the only reason they are used here. They are unreliable with the water systems in Panama. You are constantly trying to adust the water flow passing through the heater. It has to have constant pressure and volume. That ain't happening here.

You are partially correct, the quality of water supply is neighborhood dependent. I don't experience any of the problems you described but I do know people in other neighborhoods who do.
The main problem I see with an electric based water heater is that you're dependent on Union Fenosa. With gas, you're only dependent on yourself.
The on-demand heaters are horrible, first you get the hot water, then it gets really hot so you turn on the cold water and then it gets really cold and you have to turn off all the water and start over again. It is a Chinese water torture. I had a Solar Hot Water system installed, let the Sun make the hot water. This was done about 10 years ago.

If interested, be glad to provide more details.
Thx

Bob,
Does an electric on-demand water heater require a dedicated circuit?
How long does the heating element last?
The sensors never fail?

This works for me also
Electric is the way to go if you can get the electricity where you want it. I brought three from the USA . One for kitchen, bath, and washer.

The short answer Marlene, is that a tankless heater should be vented to the outside.
