Hello everyone, I participated on this open discussion today at the main square of Boquete with the Major and the main people of the company doing the labors and the premier of Chiriqui and they heard all the frustration of the good people of Boquete. I think they are and will move forward faster and more efficiently from now on!

I didn't realize Varela was "bruised up quite a bit by Martinelli". I thought he quit because he didn't agree with Martinelli's corruption ethic. How was he "bruised up"? I will look forward to educating myself. Please be specific Jefe. Thank you.
I don't recall from whom I heard it, but I was told that the policlinica building was authorized and funded but that no funds were provided for medical equipment and furnishings nor for employees.
Long on rumours, short on facts.
Yes Jim, I decided to check in, again, even after what I told you. I don’t live there, but do have desires to do so. So the question I have regarding this is; (1) What is the construction issue, and (2), Are the Panamanian people the ones complaining? If they are, they have a right to. If it’s the expats, you, and maybe eventually us, have to understand it was this way before you came. I’ve already been told a few times, patience. You live in their country, it’s their way you are trying to change. It’s not the accepted norm, but I will say, San Antonio, where I live, has the same problem. Local companies get contracts, and hire “locals”, and in San Antonio there are lots of Hispanics with the same mentality, Manana. The difference is this is the US, and that’s not how things have been done before. But it’s Panama, their country, and therefore it’s the gringos who much adjust, or leave. You can’t change their stripes. Just my two cents from the outside, and also the way I’ve told myself I will try to look at it. At least try.
"it is going to get better and faster." That's what the mayor and others said the last time the Govt. Rep was in Panama after a protest. NOTHING CHANGED THEN AND I DOUBT IT WILL NOW. The ROCK excuse is just that, an excuse.
Thank you Oscar and Boquete Ning. Please keep us informed of all and any updated information you may receive. There are many ExPats here who do not understand full Spanish all that well and they are relying on you to keep them informed. Thank you for your attention.
