We were parked inside the white lines on the street to the right as you are leaving the parking lot exit and we received a ticket for being partly on the sidewalk. We noticed most of the other cars also had tickets, but they had at least one tire on or over the white line. So, does this mean that one can no longer go to the market unless they can park in the parking lot? I would think this will prevent people from utilizing the market for shopping. Any thoughts/ideas/suggestions?

About two or three months ago, the Boquete mayor had pictures of the cars parked near the sidewalks there and said that it was illegal. He kind of warned us.
I seem to remember someone posting a police car parked completely across one whole end of the crosswalk.
And increased police presence is paid for by ... What?
I recently saw a police officer issue a parking ticket to someone whose car was 1' over the crosswalk. They're getting picky.
It will be a growing problem - more and more cars, less and less space to park. Any store which offers adequate parking in the future (maybe Riba Smith??) will have a ready made customer base.

I would like to know how is the police organized back in the US on small rural towns and/or counties. Maybe I have seen so many US Movies that shows very limited force I would like to have more information about how it is there.
It looks like the policia are cracking down on their parking laws; they never did this in the past. This may indeed reduce the number of Tuesday Market visitors.
My wife and I always park up the road after turning left at Tika's. Yeah, it's a little farther to walk, but we need the exercise anyway. :)
That is the spirit. We are so used to cars that we don't want to walk.
