Rod, as you know Joe and I, along with my husband Jim, were good friends. Please send me a private message, so that we may discuss his passing. We really miss him!
Stephen, I would love to hear from you as well.
Kira, I left a message for you, at your former place of employment . Our deepest sympathy goes out to you and your sister. Would love to hear from you. Abby.
Since it has now been a year, I would like to just leave this message, as a little tap on the shoulder to those who knew him. He was a great friend to us. Joe was a loner, yes. He was very knowledgeable about the Boquete area, and gave back to in in a large, but quiet way. His life was full. He kept it interesting. He showed me every little back street shop in Boquete and David. He taught me how to shop, and how to think differerently, which is so needed in a second world country. My husband and I owned him a big thanks you, and were lucky enough be to able to express it while he was still walking among us.
Hi Abigayle, you hit it on the nail head about Joe. If you did not know him well, he came across as very gruff, but had a heart of gold. When I was first looking into traveling to Boquete, I posted a note on Craigslist to see if anybody could give me some insight. Joe not only responded, but when I got to Boquete he drove me all over the place , showing me David , and everywhere else you can imagine. He introduced me to Tito and Anna, the owners of Hospedeja Palmira Springs, who are my family in Panama now, and to the Tuesday morning meetings. He was a very interesting person to know, and I am very thankful to have know him. He is missed terribly and the world lost a very nice person.
Exactly right, Rod. Please send me a message, I have a question for you. Kira has changed employers and I need to find her.
Joe even helped us with a banking situation after we left Panama. He was planning a trip that he never got to take. I knew something was wrong, when his email and phone were both unavailable. This used to happen with his email and he was once again, having trouble with it. Jim and I miss his friendship, along with his take on life.
Thanks for the all the love for my dad everyone. This has been a very difficult time, thanks for everything Rod.
Very sorry to hear of Joe's passing. We were neighbours for a while in Alto Dorado before he built his place and fed the same street dogs. RIP Joe.
His will stated that he wanted to be cremated.
Good morning Stephen, thank you for your response. I have spoken with his Daughter Kira, and she has his will. There seems to be some confusion as to what happened to him, and I am trying to help Kira to find out all of the facts pertaining to his passing. If you have any information that is useful, we would appreciate it. Thank you in advance.
Regards
Rod Taylor
There might be 2 wills floating around. I am not sure what his daughter has but his girlfriend has a copy of what is suppose to be his most recent will.
