E-Shop Rocks!! No monthly service charges, very reasonable prices for packages (they even give you a listing of their charges) and lovely, lovely and helpful people.
Oh, and you can also use their mail forwarding service for envelope mail -- there is a charge so it will not be free as it is using the Entrega General address at the post office. But you have a way better chance of receiving your mail and it's definitely much quicker than through the Panamanian Postal System.

So where exactly is the E-Shop? I'd like to check it out for sure and get their prices.
Have you considered using a local service? Servitechnics has a parcel shipping service - send your packages to their address in Miami, they forward them to Boquete and charge about $4.75 per pound - E-Shop also has package delivery, and their price per pound goes down as the weight of the package goes up.
If you don't get a lot of mail, Servitechnics also has a mail delivery service - $1 per load, regardless of how many pieces in one shipment.
There is always Mailboxes, Etc. - about $30 per month for a mailbox, and they will also accept packages, although the price is a bit high.
Do you mean at the Boquete p.o.? Go and ask them. Boxes are usually in short supply, but there might be one available. You have to ask. They cost $30/year. If you have packages sent there, you might have to go to David to pick them up, because they can get hung up in customs at the David p.o. A major pain and a big reason for using one of the mail forwarding services like eShop and Mail Boxes Etc.
Yes, there are about 50 boxes at the Post Office, and someone has to die before you can get one, but you can have letters addressed to:
Your name
Boquete 0413,
Chiriqui, Rep of Panama
The post office sort them alphabetically, and you just go in and give them your name. The PO will not accept parcels, you have to go down to David for those.

Thank you Maureen and Robert for the info. That's good to know about the letters! So if a parcel is sent do you know where in David it needs to be picked up? Do they still address it the same as if a letter?
If you are going through the post office, they will address it to Boquete, and David will let Boquete know that you have a parcel waiting. It is up to you to keep checking in with the Boquete PO. David will only hold it so long before they charge per day for holding it, then they send it back. You will need to speak Spanish to retrieve your parcel. Or, you can have parcels sent to one of the receiving companies. We use Mail Boxes Etc. We have an account $29.95/month, whether or not you receive anything. If you receive over 2000 grams you are then charged 1.1 cent/gram. Their address is in Miami, and they forward it on to Boquete - parcels and letters. Go in and see Arturo. Getting parcels into and out of Panama is not cheap.

Here's the latest rate table that I have.
E Shop is across the street from Multibank on the side street in Boquete.
