I have friends arriving in Panama who will have a half-day in PC before their flight to Bocas. They want to see the canal and a bit the old city, and need to have lunch somewhere. Can anyone recommend a private, English-speaking guide who could collect them, chauffeur them, keep them suitably occupied for this very short timeframe, and deliver them to the airport on time? I'd love to put them in good hands. Thanks!!

Thanks to everyone who so thoughtfully responded to my inquiry. With your recommendations, I sent the same 'request for a quote' email to all four, and Fran's John (airportridespanama@gmail.com) was the first to get back to us -- we followed the path of least resistance and booked with him. He was great! A history buff with a sense of humour, a firm grasp of the city, an excellent resource for restaurants and shopping, and a very zen approach to driving in Panama City. We did everything we needed to do and more, but never felt rushed or stressed and we all got to our respective airports in time for flights. On a Friday afternoon! Thanks Fran, thanks all!
We used Panama trails for a two day tour in PC and a canal tour as well as a self driving tour from PC to Boquete including many side trips. We were first picked up at the airport, and taken to our B&B, then we toured with knowledgeable guides. all transfers and tours were flawlessly and professionally handled, including an embera village excursion with a guide who had family roots there. Www.panamatrails.com . It was our first trip to Panama and it was a terrific three weeks. We've been back on our own to Boquete since and hope to live here someday. Our start with Panama Trails was the catalyst.
