I tried sending this through the CONTACT US tab above, but it appears to apply only to business contacts. So I'll try it here.
One of my posts, a response to Nicole Hart's searching for a translator, has been edited by removing at least two non-controversial sentences. I also recall that Judy Sacco questioned whether the dog found in Santa Lucia was truly lost and that ARF responded to her email. Those two posts have disappeared. I'm not sure about other topics, but I'm sure about these.
What's going on? Is the Moderator taking the liberty of removing posts and language that are in no way violative of the rules? If so, what is the rationale?

News Boquete, Chiriqui Life, and Boquete News on Facebook all have news, including that from the Mayor and City Council. Check out Amigos de Boquete, too. They do videos of the Mayor's press conferences and have commentary and translation.
The dog post is still there. It hasn't been removed. It has just gone off the first page, replaced by newer posts. If you go to the bottom and hit View All, then just start scrolling, you will find this:

Yes, but didn't you have a response that isn't reflected? I recall you suggesting that it may be just a wanderer and ARF replying that no one in the neighborhood recognized it--or something to that effect.
You're right, I did. I didn't look at the whole post. That is a mystery isn't it? Where did my response and ARF's response go?
I keep checking Amanda's posted question. I don't see an answer yet, but plenty of non-answers. It would be nice if Liz would reply to the question here, so we can all be made aware of the "rules of engagement" . I'd prefer being told why a comment was edited to avoid the chance of having my signed statement appear to be written by myself, when it may not be my word choices at all. Heck, I use my real name, which seems to be a rarity here. But, from rumors, I hear that rather than give warnings, this site simply bans some folks, and leaves others to disgust and defame at will. So, they 're-register with fake names. I'm not sure how the decision is made to edit comments. Politics? "Friends in power?". Answering Amanda's question could help us understand.

Below is from the Ning homepage. Also, I just looked on the "Rant", it looks like they are allowing both sides and keeping out from what I can see as it relates to "Left or Right" viewpoints. So that's good.
NEW NING FORUM! "THE RANT" IS NOW OPEN! Our new Rant forum (see tab) is for those members who wish to discuss politic's, religion and / or anything they want to express their personal opinion(s) with others! Please be nice to each other. We will limit moderating on this forum.. We do ask everyone to be respectful of each other. Do not click open or read the Rant unless you are prepared to read personal comments by others.
The Rant category has nothing to do with my point, Rose Ann. I was not ranting, wrote in the main forum, and I wrote nothing even marginally controversial. But some sentences from my post are missing. I also believe that two posts are missing from the dog-in-Santa-Lucia item for no discernible reason. I just want to know what's going on.
Sounds reasonable, Rose. I was just concerned that it be used in an even handed manner. I certainly have no beefs so far, just worried when I hear certain people's comments were edited. Why? For clarity of when moderator doesn't like the wording? Even if it IS within the guidelines.
Jo, We will be more than reasonable for any opinions that do not attack others. We want respectful conversation and debate and all must be on "The Rant" I just closed out a rant that was on the community forum and will not accept those type of post for any reason.
