That is interesting. I spoke with Howard and he told me finding players would actually be a problem as boquete is quite small. I asked if there was a list I could put my name on with the people who play there. I saw no list and left my name and number. I have not gotten a response.
I would love to play, its one of the few forms of exercise I enjoy. The problem is the price they are asking here exceeds "Country Club" racquetball membership pricing in the States. Google returned memberships anywhere from $115 - $ 435 per year, plus court time of $7 - $15 per hour (some even include the court time with the membership). Prices include showers and saunas. Keep me informed, if they come to their senses regarding fees, you'll have a partner.
If I were you, I would ask Sonia for a list of players before I committed. Shouldn't be a problem.
Just be glad I'm not there to take your wimpy raquet to school, Joshua (he said with his flabby butt parked behind a computer screen thousands of miles away .....) !
Is anyone here a member of valle Escondido? I would love to know if people actually play raquetball there and what it would take to play if you are not a member.
See what they can do for a Racquetball only deal. I'm with you on the price. $25 for court use and a shower seems a little high. Heck, I'll even wait till I get home to shower, if that helps. Seems kind of a shame to let a court sit unused.
Hey Jim
I stopped by the spa the other day and spoke with the owner. The spa is quite nice but expensive. They want 300 for a membership and then like 60 a month. He told me if I just wanted to play raquetball we could work something out. The court looks like it just sits there empty. The daily rate was 25 dollars. I would be happy to pay like 10 dollars to play each time if I had someone to play with.
Josh, check to see if there is a daily rate at Valle Escondido. They also have a court. Hope to start playing some when we return from the states in June. Will want the mid to late 60's group and I doubt you are old enough yet. Will need someone on the court who can call the paramedics if necessary............lol
Let's harness some of that hostility for the raquetball court guys.
Somebody here has to play. I am going to stop by the spa today and see who plays there.

Trust, but verify.
