I'm looking for a clinic to get my female cat spayed, and one of her male kittens neutered. She was a stray that we took in and has already had 2 litters of kittens. I checked with Amigos de animales and they have no room until the end of October by then she will be pregnant again. I checked the clinic in boquete above La Posada and they are fairly expensive looking for a cheaper place.ThanksYou can call or whatsapp me at6219-6655

yes he does treat large animals but he's helped save lives of animals as small as 4lbs. does he have office like dr Sam? no, buy when your animal is dying at 2am in the morning, he's there. I use him to give routine shots etc and check ups.
I don't advocate using shots as birth control, but if you have a cat in heat and can't afford to take to the vet, unless Dr Gonzalez who is always reasonable, unless you can keep her from getting outside, I've used the shot.
I've also had animals spayed or neutered and stitches open or infection, so it's damned if you do or damned if you don't. I was just trying to give option, of course if you don't know how to give injections, may as well just get her spayed at vet.

Hi Maureen, he doesn't have a office per se, though he does some operations at his home. He'll even come pick up your animal. He's a good ole country Dr without a lot of bells and whistles but I trust him implicitly, especially if you have an emergency. I am always available to help with translation for anyone's animal, anytime. message me and I will give you my number.

As you see you will need appointment. I had a dog whose stitches came open I was fostering and without being too graphic, there were parts hanging out. Dr Gonzalez came to my mind after 10pm, we performed her surgery putting all back together and he charged me $40. Including shots, anesthesia etc.
I can ask him what he charges for spaying. I am sure it will be more than reasonable. He is my go to guy here in Boquete because I can get him 24/7. He just saved my dogs life not too long ago, someone had slit his throat open, luckily just missing juggler but still alot of blood loss. my bill, $40. Not that I would have cared about cost.
Animales is wonderful but they carry a heavy load and the number of stray animals wondering the streets is immense. I have been here 12 years and see the difference. I have had animals fixed there and volunteered but if you don't want to wait even with reservation, call Dr Gonzalez or I will help translate if need be.
That option being put out there I have to praise what all the volunteers, vets and the people who donate to this very important cause. For what animales does and charges, to me if you can't afford Vet, it's worth the inconvenience and the volunteers really care.
If she should come into heat before clinic, there's a shot that will help. I've used it before when I have had a cat come into heat before I could get her to clinic. I can't remember name right now but it's only a matter of me asking Gabby at feed store. The place next to laundry, close to Sr. Gyro
The next Animales clinic is October 29, and yes, you need a reservation. It is called a reservation because that is what it is; it gets you on the list but we cannot predict the time you might get in. It is not called an appointment because that sets expectations of a set time in which you will be seen and there are too many variables in the equation to do that.
We have to plan for the number of vets to bring in and the amount of medication to have on hand. It is true that there are times when we have some no-shows, but that is far outweighed by the number of times we have worked long and late accommodating those who just show up. We are an all-volunteer organization and cannot expect our volunteers to work late in the evening - even though they have done that many times. It can be a very stressful day, both for the volunteers and the doctors.
As a low cost clinic, there are certain inconveniences that might come with it - among them having to wait. The Panamanians treat it as a social event and they have never complained about the wait.
October will be the last clinic of the year so we are expecting it to be a big one - my advice is to get your reservation in now!

Where is Dr. Gonzalez's office? I hope your poor dog is OK now, why do people do such things?
