Hello all:
I am trying to do a Survey of what's important to us expats, and somehow we feel is lacking in our community. Example, I feel we need more entertainment, art galleries, movie theaters and functions such as concerts and plays.
Yes the BCP has great plays, but I mean a play such as Rent or Mama Mia, or perhaps a Film Festival, or a Pie Cook-off or Strawberry Festival... Or maybe some Movie under the Stars, or Jazz concerts.
We have plenty of restaurants in town, small gift shops and the occasional play. We have some local talented artist who show off their art at the library or some local restaurant, and our yearly Jazz festival, but again, from the community, what would you like to see more or less of, for that matter.
Please inbox me or reply. Your input is valuable and important.

I want to see less of it...and it is quite impossible to eliminate
Whatever happened to the r.e.l.a.x. and be happy on .ning? Olga, take a chill pill please. This site is not all about you.
I'd love to see a bookstore...oh, that's right, there is one. ;-) In case any of you have forgotten the BookMark.
What is lacking? A lack of consideration for the local Panamanian population. Everything is about ex-Pats from where ever. Non-tipico restaurants (too expensive for most locals), Group traveling activities (too expensive for most locals), BCP Plays too expensive for most locals, Boquete Jazz Festival (too expensive for most locals), Wine tasting parties (too expensive for most locals). etc...
How about more support for the Local Men's Softball League, the Local Ladies Softball League, the Local Taekwondo Marcia Arts Tournaments held at the local gym when scheduled. How about supporting/attending the Panamanian artists/comedians when they perform at the feria salon. How about supporting local School cake/clothing sales. How about integrating and learning to speak Spanish (that's the key to everything).
I completely agree, and I'd include talking to schools to see if help is needed with sport and music funding.
A brave and proven leader representing the expat community as Lee Zeltzer did. I as well as many others surely miss him and his contributions and dedication to representing expats to Boquete community. He was well received and respected by the Boquete leaders and people. We've got a few qualified candidates here amongst us that I bet will be stepping up to the plate in due time.
As Artistic Director of the BCP, I am ready and willing to brainstorm/entertain all ideas for creative endeavors in and around Boquete. I would love to collaborate with all interested Boquetians who want to expand our performance/entertainment presence in the area.
Please let me know how I can collaborate....
