Hello everyone, I have heard many different opinions about the water in Boquete. Would it be better to get a decent water filtration system for the whole house or just one for drinking water? Other say you can drink the local water. If you do need a system is there anywhere to get one at a reasonable price? Look forward to hearing your expert opinion's.

Hi Julie: before jumping to conclusions just take a sample of your water to the Inmunotec Laboratory located in the Don Vidal building diagonal to the Municipal Building and just before the bridge. Tel. 720-1727. They will give you a water sample container in which they will do a complete test of your water. The cost is $20. and the result will be available the following day. We just had one done for a well in Dolega. The water quality in Boquete varies, some areas the water is just fine to drink, other areas such as Santa Lucia where we live need to have the water boiled really good or a good water filtration system (we boil our water, have for many years and have never gotten sick).
