Auto Insurance in Panama

Hello All

Any suggestions on Auto insurance in Panama ?

What is really needed ? In the USA I always had a high Liability Coverage just incase some one got hurt because I had an accident with them.

I understand here in Panama its less litigious ?

How about collision coverage ?    I have not seen anywhere here they could fix a auto so ??

Any thoughts on amounts and types of coverage to consider.

Generally, I recommend a policy with $100,000/$300,000 Liability, and vehicles with a value of less than $10,000 to be self-insured for Collision. Body work is relatively inexpensive. You can't register your car without insurance.  You have to show proof of insurance to get the inspection, then you have to take the inspection form to the place that issues the plates.  There are a lot of auto insurance companies and also auto repair places.
