So this adorable, small, skinny Collie mx showed up at my house yesterday.
Her coat is reasonably clean and brushed and she has a nasty looking wound on her neck.
She ate yesterday but not this morning...
I have put up posters in the La Acequia/Potreriolls area but not sure what to do next???
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Susan!! I guess I wrote that as a word of encouragement, since my little girl was running around the whole time her cast was on, albeit not happy about it, and it healed up beautifully. No pins were needed though. Perhaps crating her is the best solution. I'm sure she won't be happy about it either but I can't think of any other way to keep her off it.
Jess, Thanks!! I'll be back mid July for 2 weeks. Already counting the days. Hehe!!
Thanks Judy!! Donation sent via PayPal. Just sent you an email.
Susan, I once had one of my cats break her leg and needed to wear a cast. She was able to walk on it the whole time and it healed up perfectly. So perfect when they had done the final x-ray the Dr thought it was a mistake and they x-rayed the wrong leg.... So I would think to keep her activities limited, no jumping etc. She'll probably favor that leg anyhow. Sorry I can't offer better advise.
What a sweet little girl!! So glad she's getting the care that she needs. I'd take her in a heart beat if I was there. I'll gladly chip-in $50 if someone could front me the $$ until I return in July.... Anyone??
If you go to Pets Want Homes where Angel is posted, you will see a PayPal tab on the home page. If you want to donate through PayPal, I will make sure the money goes for Angel's care. If you do that, please send me an email notifying me.

There are plenty of clinics "back home" that do no free treatment. Dr. Sam and Dra. Patrizia have a relatively new practice, a new building, new equipment, etc. I don't fault them for not volunteering to do this work for nothing. And I certainly won't be going elsewhere because they're the best vets in Chiriqui. But I will be dropping my $10 off at Curvas Bonitas.
Mention to the vets that this is a rescue dog. They have been known to reduce prices and not do extra tests that aren't needed for the immediate emergency. I don't know any vets that would do surgery for free, but they often reduce rates for rescued animals.
They trust you because you saved their lives.
Since Monika got so much help, she should try everything to keep her!
I can't keep her either, but I will be willing to share expenses.
I am positive there are many of us who would love to take this dog if we didn't already have multiples. She should be easy to place. I hope she never grows into those ears.
